Objectivos gerais

O curso pretende formar especialistas em Educação detentores de uma visão estratégica integradora da investigação e da intervenção e com competências conducentes à elaboração de respostas aos problemas educativos atuais.
Procura proporcionar uma formação teórica potenciadora da reflexão e análise dos contextos educativos escolares e não escolares e os conhecimentos relativos aos procedimentos de pesquisa, ao planeamento e execução de políticas educativas nacionais, setoriais, locais e organizacionais.

Objectivos de apredizagem

The Master's Degree in Education and Society aims to prepare its students to:
- demonstrate having acquired a wide and deep knowledge of the questions asked in the context of education in contemporary societies, the theoretical and analytical tools available to support their comprehension and the creation of research and/or intervention projects in the educational field;
- be able to apply that knowledge and comprehension on the elaboration of cognitive and operative answers, suitable to new situations within this field of study and work;
- be able to bring together knowledge on the analysis of complex educational problems, issue opinions on situations of incomplete or limited information, pondering the social and ethical implications of the application of that knowledge and opinions;
- be able to communicate their analyses and conclusions, as well as the resulting knowledge and reasoning, in a clear manner, both among education expert and non-expert publics;
- develop lifelong learning skills with high degree of autonomy.
