Pre-requisites
Objectives The financial world and the banking system are strongly interconnected to economic activities, both at domestic and international levels, that Students should identify and explain to be able to manage their activities effectively, efficiently and in a focused fashion. To achieve that, Students should learn and explain the global financial system framework and network, and its impact in the banks? management.

More recently, the financial crisis resulted in a change of paradigm, namely in profitability, financial stability, systemic risks, reduced availability of certain financing instruments, ?legacy? portfolios, and compliance issues. Within this environment, Students should be able to distinguish and leverage the global financial instruments, complemented by learning the importance of banking networking and relationship in the international arena, to achieve successfully their banks? objectives in an environment of change in the paradigm.

-Delivery (21 days after the classes' week) of a written document (approximately 5000 words) by teams of five Students about a subject within the scope of the financial system industry  - 50%
Success grade: minimum 10/20
Teaching Method Acquire and develop cognitive, analysis and synthesis, research, critical and self-critical, in the scope of this learning unit and in compliance with the objetives, defined above.
For the acquisition of these competences will be used, in the contact hours of this learning unit, a range of teaching methods (e.g., theoretical  and theoretical and practical expositions; case study; role play sessions; etc.) that, in an articulated manner, allow the mastering of the above competences.
