Pre-requisites
Objectives
The main purpose of this course is to enable students to apply linear regression model, logit and probit models and simple time series model to real situations in business and institutional environments.
Program
1. Back to maths 2. Descriptive statistics and market risk 3. Probabilities and decision trees 4. Theoretical distributions and sales simulation 5. Hypotheses testing in the performance evaluation 6. Correlation and regression: sales forecasting
Evaluation Method
In addition to strict compliance with the program regulation, the periodical evaluation method requires a minimum class attendance of 60% and: - An assignment (individual or in group) with a weight of 50%; - An individual test, with a weight of 50% and a minimum grade of 10 points. Alternatively, the final exam, similarly to phase two exams, will account for 100% of the final grade, disregarding the periodical assessment component.
Teaching Method
each student should acquire analytical, information gathering, written and oral communication skills. To contribute to the acquisition of these skills the following learning methodologies (LM) will be used: 1.Expositional, to the presentation of the theoretical reference frames 2.Participative, with analysis and resolution of application exercises 3.Active, with the realization of individual and group works 4.Experimental laboratory, with development and operation of computer models
